Nothing was diffcuilt or Unexpected questions especially if you have work experience w/ corrections or mental health. It's not a formal interview & the question's are taped to the table in front of you.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Kansas Department of Corrections (Wichita, KS) in Aug 2013
Interview
It was a behavioral based interview consisting of around 5 questions, it's a 30 minute interview, try to shoot for around 20 minutes, so elaborate but don't ramble. There is a panel of 3 people, usually the actual hiring authority is not one of them. The three people rate each one of your answers and they make a recommendation to the hiring authority. They rank people from best to worst, so that the hiring authority can go down the list and make job offers contingent on drug tests and whether people ahead of you accept or decline.
