I interviewed at Karbon Homes (Newcastle upon Tyne, England)
Interview
Between the recruitment company, Karbon homes and myself as a candidate the communication was great, the interviews were well structured and feedback was given, which is always helpful to improve.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Asked about my knowledge of the organisation and experience for the role.
I interviewed at Karbon Homes (Newcastle upon Tyne, England)
Interview
Applied online via link through indeed. Waited over a week and received an email that initially looked like spam saying I was unsuccessful at this stage after interview. Never interviewed for the role and no feedback offered as to why despite having relevant skills and experience.

Thank you for your comments - I'm sorry you had a negative experience. Upon submitting your application you should have received an email from recruitment@karbonhomes.co.uk confirming it had been submitted. Depending on the closing date of the vacancy there may have been a week or so when we were still receiving applications and the hiring manager was shortlisting. We don't offer feedback at this stage unless requested - if this is still required please get in touch using the email address above.
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Karbon Homes (Newcastle upon Tyne, England) in Oct 2018
Interview
Miserable experience. Applied for role - purgatory via horrendous application form. Few weeks later, received email saying I was unsuccessful. An hour later, received phone call saying email was in error. Invited to interview in a week's time.
Two days before interview, received another email stating I was also required to sit a half hour test prior to interview.
Interview & test preparation, suited, booted, expense & time in travel & attendance.
Arrived at reception. Receptionist got my name wrong. Observed in WC. A ton of behaviour conditioning posters, what to do. What not to do etc.
Interviewer arrived. Was told it had been difficult to book a room. Was escorted to a glass Hannibal lector type room for test. Group of younger workers, I.T. I was told, seemed to feel it appropriate to snigger & smirk at some kind of in joke - clearly at my expense. I was forced to give them "the look", to which their attitude changed. Nice.
Test was all in Karbon branding & terminology. Difficult for an outsider to succeed.
Interview,: 2 interviewers. My answers were cut short with terse coordinated page turning - clearly signalling a move to the next question. A load of Karbon branded competency based questions - next to impossible to demonstrate my transferable skill set. Interview end.
Interviewer escorted me from the building & said goodbye - getting my surname wrong. Therefore, clearly they thought I was somebody else.
Post interview, hours, days ,weeks & a month later of checking my email, phone, doormat. Nothing. Zilch.
Clearly Karbon Homes takes what suits it best from an interview process. It the continues to demonstrate its contempt for candidates by giving them the silent treatment. You spend weeks on end agonising. Putting life on hold, all for the sake of what would amount to two minutes of their time.
A turgid, miserable experience from start to never ending finish. I've the same contempt for Karbon Homes a which they showed to me. Horrible organisation.
Hello, I am sorry to hear about your experience. I will forward your comments to our HR team and also the recruiting manager. Thank you again for your feedback, it is appreciated.
