      Interview

It was a long and tedious process with 5 rounds of interviews. They drilled me completely and tried hard to understand why was I looking to switch. Their intent was to understand if I have the fire in me to make money.

      Question 1

Which Sales methodologies do you follow?

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Kaseya (Bengaluru) in Dec 2023

      Interview

The recruiter responded almost 'three (3) months' after my job application & successfully clearing their Predictive Assessment test. Even emailed her in the following week to follow up on application's status. She lacked the basic courtesy to even respond to my emails at the time. Finally called me to fix an interview & I reminded her about my email but she tried to play ridiculous by blaming it on an unknown person in the company for not responding. Lost the professionalism bet the moment she shifted the blame for personal inefficiency on to an imaginary co-worker thus indicating a lack of mutual accountability & team spirit in the company. Red flag! Such people to be held personally accountable for gross misconduct & disservice to their jobs. By far one of the most pathetic recruiting practices that I’ve seen in recent times. Strongly believe that A.I. is capable of boasting better recruiting efficiency than such ineffective humans! Recruiter was insulting from the get-go by trying to teach me how to 'speak English' as a prerequisite for the job role (as if it ISN'T for any job since time immemorial??!!). Reminded her multiple times to read my resume thoroughly to make any English tuitions unnecessary. Persisted with her annoying insults at my communication skills. Surprised to be even allowed to carry on working for the company with her poor, rude & crude communication skills; clearly lacks the wherewithal to sell the company's jobs to prospective employees. Interview panel - couple of unprofessional & over smart fellows only interested in putting me down & trying real hard to insult rather than trying to know me & the contributions I would’ve brought to the job. They didn't know the very nature of the business of the company that they represent & instead schooled me in a derogatory way even resorting to futile arguments over the matter. I let the situation pass in the interest of time. They were more keen on sporting fake American English accents to cast an impression. Suffered from poor comprehension skills & didn't understand my answers to their questions. Weren't even paying attention at times to the conversation & I had to repeat myself a couple of times verbatim so that it registered in their brains. By now, it almost felt like engaging with a bunch of parrots who didn't know any better than to squawk the same lines rehearsed many times over minus any originality of thought or tact whatsoever. 'Mock call' - hilarious part about this clownish act is that one of those chaps is a customer with a business inquiry about purchasing 'laptops in bulk quantity'. I was to call back & sell them to him. They think that 'selling laptops in bulk' is a B2B Enterprise SaaS sale. Haven't heard anything more ridiculous in my entire selling career! ZERO idea about fundamental meaning of enterprise selling. Yet, judging prospective candidates’ selling skills. Grow up & get learning folks! It just isn’t what you think it is. Besides, the mock call had no back story or way forward. Whole act & judging standards are as poor as some cheap audition for a cheaper reality television show. Was a cringe marathon of sorts rather than a dignified job interview. Clear ignorance & naiveté about selling methodologies & yet attempting to put others down displaying sheer arrogance & smugness. The Golden Rule in sales is "Treat Others How You Want to be Treated" - obviously missing here. Earnest advice to these chaps - leave your fakery, hubris & haughtiness behind in an interview & learn to be empathic. Not the first job & certainly won't be the last one on the planet. You’ve certainly failed to cast a good impression. Lose the antics & get real! Interview rescheduled three times showing recruiter’s unpunctuality; finally scheduled for 01:30 AM to 02:30 AM in the dead silence of the night! Attended it in formal attire at home, speaking at lowest decibel levels lest I disturb the whole neighbourhood. Ultimately, turned out that the job was no management role. Was just an 'Inside Sales Executive' making phone calls under a Team Leader. Job title too was misleading which was never clarified by the recruiter early on. Not interested in wasting precious time for an under qualified job to be performed under a team that clearly doesn't understand Enterprise software solutions' selling. They have a lot of learning to accomplish; still too wet behind the ears. Despite glaring recruiting infractions, followed up three times at separate intervals with this recruiter who never bothered to respond with a phone call or a message. Today, finally received a regretful email about my candidature. The whole process seemed like such an avoidable sham!!! Folks at Kaseya ought to train their employees well in elementary resume reading skills to avoid wasting people's time in this unprofessional manner. Have your employees learn the basic tenets of selling a job before they sell your products & services. Signing off...Adios!
