Question 1
What do you think is the most challenging aspect of teaching students to write long features?
I applied online. I interviewed at Kingston University London (Kingston, Kent, South East England, England) in Mar 2026
Interview
Upon arrival, reception staff were unable to contact the line manager and my own attempts to reach her by email were also unsuccessful. An administrator later escorted me upstairs and requested my passport, despite this not being mentioned in the interview instructions. I offered to provide a digital copy but it was not taken.
At the start of the interview, one panellist spoke in a notably abrupt and harsh manner, asking questions without any introduction or courtesy, which made me feel extremely anxious. Despite this, I answered all questions to the best of my ability.
At the end of the interview, I asked whether feedback would be provided if I was unsuccessful, and both panellists confirmed that it would. However, I later received an automated rejection email after office hours on a Friday and, despite contacting line manager, the recruitment team, and HRBP, I received no feedback.
The overall experience left me feeling disrespected and concerned that the outcome may have been predetermined, particularly as the line manager did not attend the interview. Candidates should be treated with professionalism and respect, and commitments to provide feedback should be honoured.

Very relaxed and fun actually. Questions on team bonding, past scenarios and what I can bring in that’s new. They also did a microteach which was harder since it was short timeframe
