I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Knitcraft (Winona, MN) in July 2013
Interview
The design position is extremely important to the company. Expect the interview to last the full day (mine was from 9 am to 5 pm). You go through a 'getting to know you' interview, tour the factory, meet managers, and get to 'shadow' your manager, and 2 other interviews (one with HR and the other with the CEO). Then they test your CAD skills with Adobe Illustrator. They just expect you to sketch some sweaters and show off your technique and creative ability.

Showing your CAD skills was difficult because I had difficulty using their croquis.

Interview
You interview with the CEO, HR and department head...and it takes 3 hours!! Hardest part is being told it is very stressful and make little money for it; you can't make a mistake or be even 5 minutes late or you will be written up-3 times you lose your job.
