I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at KnowBe4 (New York, NY) in Feb 2018
Interview
I spoke with HR and she sent me a link to take 3 tests, 2 of which were timed, to rate my IQ and personality. The last one had 100 questions, untimed, asking those general questions about personality. Introvert vs extrovert, etc. I was informed via email the hiring manager didn't want to move forward and I was not a good fit after he/she reviewed the notes from phone interview, my resume, and results from the tests. I called and left message, and a follow up email, requesting for a return call just to ask a couple questions. No response. At least have the courtesy to give an explanation after making candidates take an hour of their personal time to take tests. We had aptitude tests at a previous job (excel) but we gave candidates results. How would you like if you took a test in college, you flunked, but your professor wouldn't tell you why?
Your experience was not typical.
As a company is in hyper-growth you can have issues that occur as we expand. We welcome you to apply again if you see there is a position that is a fit. If not, we hope you have found a great fit that is what you are looking for!
I went through 3 tests. I did fine on the impt issues, like aptitude, accounting knowledge but failed their personality test twice ! So I even answered the questions differently the 2nd time and researched the Scientology test and answers (which is very similar to their personality test) and still failed it so I don’t understand how they can get away with that. What does it matter if I’m a slow eater or not? What does that have to do with my skills as an accountant? I am a very good candidate but can’t get a job there.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Horrible - you can’t get an interview if you don’t pass their personality test
We have a series of interviews, tests and skill assessments (depending on the position) to assess if you have the right skills for the position and if you will be a good fit for our company.
The tests are not the last step in the interviewing process and I am sorry if you experienced that to be the case.
If you have desire we would welcome you to apply for future positions as we are always growing.
