I applied online. The process took 6 days. I interviewed at Kohl's (Akron, OH) in July 2018
Interview
I received an email invitation to set up an interview. You use their software to set up a time and date.
On the date, I checked into customer service and was told to have a seat. The interviewer was 10 mins late for the interview. He took me into a back office where he asked some basic questions and we chatted a bit. It started out nice enough, but as he got more comfortable he started speaking poorly about co-workers and it was a little awkward. He asked me how much I expected to make but never stated what the pay was.
After that, another manager came in to ask me questions. Most of them were similar to the last manager's questions. It went well and he told me he thought I'd do well working with customers. He stated my attitude was just what he wanted in an employee. He gave me a paper that said I would get an email within 24-72 hours letting me know the decision and allowing me to set up the background check. If that went well, then I would receive information about setting up the orientation and that the whole process could take two weeks.
It's been 4 days and I haven't received any emails. I will update if something changes.
Update: I received an offer on July 17, 2018. So I guess it may take longer than what they say. I had to login and agree/read over some paperwork. They set me up for a background check that took another day to come in. Once I submitted the info for that, the results came back in less than 24 hours. Now I'm just waiting for the start date information.
It was simple and quick to get to know you. They asked why you’re interested and if you have customer experience. He offered me the job verbally after the interview but I never saw it come. A few days letter I got a letter saying I wasn’t selected. I’m not petty type or mad but please don’t do prematurely offer someone a job when you just started interviewing and you still have 8 other interviews after.

Interview
Responded quickly to set up a video interview. The interviewer was very friendly and easy to talk to. Seems like they were really looking for good personality types to fit with their emphasis on good customer service.
Goes over simple things like hobbies, skills, and weaknesses. They let you ask questions, and ask about past jobs and why you left. Overall it is an easy interview to sit through.
