I applied through university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Kohl's (Clifton, NJ) in June 2015
Interview
Group Interview. There was about 9 people that showed up but only 3 were chosen. They do a group interview because they expect you to interact with customers, so they have to make sure to can socially interact with other people properly. Yet working at 0541 will mostly require you to clean and pick merchandise off the floor and put it where it belongs 700 million times.
The interview process was pretty straightforward, virtual interview a week after applying. Didn't have many issues or anything confusing. I did ended up working there. Managers were ok but pay was pretty low.
Phone screening interview to go over resume and job requirements, mainly confirming what my availability would look like, what it entailed, and if I'd be comfortable with the sales part of the job/promoting the store rewards and credit card. Very friendly and low-pressure conversation over the phone.
The process was pretty average, it was just a little awkward trying to find someone to ask to know where I needed to go. Once I got in the back room i was asked pretty normal questions and nothing that was too hard to answer or too perosnal
