I applied in-person. I interviewed at Koinly (London, England) in July 2025
Interview
Unfortunately, my overall experience was disappointing. I completed the technical task and submitted a detailed PR along with documentation and commit messages. However, their feedback lacked substance and missed several important details — such as implemented features that were already present in the code. They claimed something wasn’t done when it clearly was.
There was no opportunity for code discussion, no review comments via GitHub, and no technical conversation afterward — only a one-sided rejection email with vague and dismissive remarks.
The feedback also seemed to reflect a lack of clarity on their side regarding what they were looking for. The project structure I followed was aligned with their codebase, yet I was criticized for it. Expectations were not clearly defined, and no guidance was offered throughout the process.
Overall, it felt unprofessional and disorganized. A simple technical call to discuss the task could have avoided much of the confusion. Unfortunately, this experience showed me that the company’s internal processes and communication might not be as mature or respectful as they appear from the outside.
