I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Konrad Group (Toronto, ON) in Apr 2018
Interview
Stage 1: Quick phone call interview with the Talent Acquisition Manager. The call was easy-going and relaxed. Was asked general questions about myself. Ex, hobbies, school history, interests in the design field.
Stage 2: Portfolio Review. Went into the office and sat down with two senior designers. I pretty much talked about my projects and they would ask me questions about my process.
Stage 3: Design Challenge. Went into the office again and did a design challenge from 10am - 6pm. Throughout the process, I had checkpoints throughout the day where a senior designer would come by and assist me in the process. It was nice because they cared about your success and were always willing to help.
Stage 4: Quick chat with the CEO of Konrad Group. He asked me questions about myself and past experiences.

Question 1
What is your design process?
Why did you chose to design it this way?
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Konrad Group (San Pedro, San Jose) in July 2025
Interview
I’ve been through 2 different interviews. The first one was with HR. Questions about my experience and test my English skills. Next I had a 45 minute interview with a member of the NY design team to show my portfolio. I recommend using 2-3 projects maximum. I’m currently waiting for my design challenge to be scheduled
I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Konrad Group (Toronto, ON) in Jan 2025
Interview
The interviewer was super nice and friendly. He asked thoughtful questions and responded to my answers with a positive attitude. The results came quickly at the time promised.
The Interview Process:
1. Initial Video Call with a Talent Acquisitor.
2. Portfolio Walkthrough with Senior Designer/Designer Lead (Highly recommend to prepare 3+ case studies & design projects in a presentation slide)
3. Remote Design Test (1 hr of whiteboarding + 2.5 hr of design task + presentation to several hiring ppl)
4. Chat with the VP
5. Offer
The entire interview process was pleasant and professional, but I stopped after the 1st round. I was confused about the qualities they were looking for in a candidate. It seems that you need to be the best-of-the-best to make it through to the final stages and get the job offer.

1 hr Design Interview (behavioural questions, presented a case study, followed by technical questions)
3.5 hr Design Challenge (1 hr of whiteboarding, then another 2 hours of a rebrand + redesign)
15-30 min final call with the VP (didn't get to this round, it's vibe check apparently)
