After a phone interview with HR, I interviewed with the CI Manager and was told, "I want you for the position." We had talked about my College Education, Six Sigma Certificates and work background and about my disability and what allowances I would need if any. I was told HR would get call me shortly with the official offer. 2 Weeks later HR did not call and after a back and forth with the hiring manager, finally I was interviewed only by HR. The only thing N.W. from HR wrote down during the whole interview process was concerning a past injury that caused my disability. Three days later I contacted the Hiring manager and asked him what was going on. He said he did not know and that he would contact HR and get back with me within thirty minutes. He told me I did not get the job. This was very unusual. Pretty unfair and suspect hiring practice that leaves me to suspect I was discriminated against by HR. Not all discrimination is illegal even if it is unfair. I had marked that I had a disability on the application beforehand and the fact that the Manager said he wanted me and I would get an offer leaves a bad taste in my mouth that HR trumped him because of my disability. The manager is not the hiring manger at this company.
