I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Kumon (Lethbridge, AB) in June 2015
Interview
My interview was a “face to face” meet-and-great to determine skills, qualifications, and availability. It was held at the local Kumon center and conducted by the local Kumon franchise owner/operator. It was fairly short (less than an hour). I didn’t get asked any hard math or grammar questions. There wasn’t any “modern HR interview techinques ” where you have to answer wierd philosophic or esoteic questions, and I didn’t need to draw a pig! It was all pretty straight forward and normal🙂

Question 1
What level of training do you have (Degrees, diplomas, certificates, grade in school and typical marks)? What experience do you have teaching/tutoring or working with children? What is you level of familiarity with the Kumon program? What is your availability? Are you reliable/dependable?
The entire process was actually quite straightforward and easy for me, primarily because I was already volunteering at the organization, which gave me a level of familiarity with the staff and operations. Since they had already seen my work ethic and commitment firsthand, there wasn’t much of a formal interview process. They mainly asked me a few questions about my academic background, the credentials I held at the time, and any relevant experience I might have had that would contribute to the role. Overall, it felt more like a conversation than a formal evaluation.
