I was extremely nervous about doing this interview, it was my first in person interview ever. I had just separated from the military, and had been unemployed for 3 months, so I went into this knowing I HAD to get it, but didn't want to sound desperate. When I pulled up to the site, seeing the hangars, and a few military personnel, it eased my mind, and made it feel like I was supposed to be there.
Onto the interview, they mainly had me talk about myself, and projects I had worked on in the military. They went over a few of the ongoing projects they had, and a few future projects... The interview was scheduled for 30 minutes, but we spoke for nearly 3 hours, it didn't feel like an interview, and time just kinda flew by. After we finished, they took me to get food, and then I left.
The next day, I got a phone call saying that they didn't want to put me in the position I applied for, but they were going to open a spot specifically for me, and wanted me to accept it. They came in just under my salary target, but I was able to negotiate a larger bonus to surpass it.
Overall, a really good experience!
