Recruiter reached out 3 weeks after I applied online. She was not friendly at all and very direct and cold in her emails. "You applied to this role, let me know when you're available etc....". I spoke to her, and she just asked a few questions about my resume and my salary expectations.
1st interview with the hiring manager - my camera was on, his was not. very awkward. I wasn't going to shut down my camera after he said he couldn't turn his on. but anyway, not too technical and he made some comments which made me think he didn't think I was a good fit but they called me for a panel interview.
super awkward as well when the recruiter jumps on and tells me to please turn on my camera. I do and when the others join, they say they cant turn theirs on. If you know you're interviewing, even if its a secure location, I'm sure there is a room that you can go to turn on your camera no? or at least let the recruiter know so the interviewee knows. Incredibly unprofessional.
One of the team members kept drilling me on why I thought I was fit for the role if I didn't have direct experience on that specific system. did you just schedule me to tell me that my experience didn't translate to the needs of the role? also gave me a hard time about choosing to leave my previous company after a few months. things happen, life happens. let's focus on my skills.
Anyway, after that whole fiasco, i reached out the recruiter 1 week later to see if they had made a decision. and I was ghosted.
