I applied through university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at LSE in Dec 2009
Interview
Ask about everything on the CV, had one interview with 2 research administrator, and one professor in the LSE. Need someone with Master degree to work in this post (honestly, it is just an easy job making sure research fund is correctly distributed, those clever research admininstrator told me that Oh no one will listen to people without a Master in this profession, I think it is such a waste of time and talent)
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
Can you work for one year? (despite the fact that they say 3 to 6 months on their stupid job ad)
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at LSE (London, England) in Jan 2018
Interview
Panel of 3: extremely naff questions. No tests. Lost interest in the job half way through; completed very long application form; panel said they had been looking for someone for a while. I think they failed to realise that an interview is a two-way process, not just to employ someone but also to sell the job
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Q: How do you know someone understands you when you speak to them?
And
Q: A student has lost research funding due to a coup in their Home country. What do you do?
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at LSE in Oct 2017
Interview
I applied online. The process took 2+ weeks. I interviewed at LSE.
Interview
All via the job portal, but at the email I received it was stated that I was replacing somebody. I didn't quite understand why they should include this info. Interview was competency based. The interview was a three person panel with a test beforehand. However at the email inviting me for the interview it was stated that there would be two persons and at the end only one of them attended and I learned about the other two on the spot. The head of the panel was very snobbish, laughing most of the time which kept me wondering what's going wrong and with an attitude as if she was conducting the research for the whole department (while she was the team leader of the research administrators). The second member of the panel on the other hand was as if she has lost her smile. They looked so prejudiced- they could as well not invite me for interview if they thought it would be a waste of time! The third poor guy was trying to compensate the situation.
Questions were standard interview questions, and completed an excel and word test (related to job). They also asked me about customer service and I was a little bit surprised since the interview wasn't for a sales assistance role!
