This is a bit of an odd one, but hopefully it’ll help other people who apply. After applying for a role with Labman, I was asked if I was available for a quick Teams call with their recruitment manager to run through my CV and to get to know a little bit about me. Both my CV and answers on this call gave Labman full knowledge of my experience and past employment history. I was then told that the team had reviewed my application and was very impressed with my application and call, and was interested in meeting me. I took additional time off work, ploughed days into research and prep, went to their impressive facility and interviewed. I was given a task to do, which is a major red flag as you can’t do anything worthwhile in 20 minutes. After this I had a standard interview back and forth, a very draining three hour experience. I was then hit with an out of the box copy and paste email a few days later saying they had received lots of interest in the role and my base product knowledge wasn’t close to other candidates. Surely, a brief overview of my CV and the call with the recruitment manager would have highlighted this and I wouldn’t have wasted all this time doing research and prepping. No real feedback on my interview, just a standard copy and paste message, disappointing as I use feedback in all my endeavours to improve.
