      Technical Operations Specialist Interview

      25 July 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Naperville, IL
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Legacy.com (Naperville, IL)

      Interview

AVOID Received a phone call from HR one day after applying. This was a typical HR screen. The screen concluded with me having a phone interview with the hiring manager the following day. I noticed the hiring manager called from a "private number", which is a flag and shows you how they may think of their candidates. Legitimate companies call with an identifiable number from the office line. Hiring managers should want to communicate with candidates, not show early signs of "one-way communications". The phone interview with the hiring manager involved very basic technical questions that would easily be answered by a single course in HTML. After this, HR called same day for an in-person interview. They gave only 48 hours notice and absolutely refused to reschedule, which is another flag. Were they desperate to fill the position or simply unable to respect their candidate's time? After the in-person interview, the hiring manager looked me straight in my eye and told me they would "contact me". I did not ask for this information. They told me a direct lie that was not necessary. Afterwards, HR completely ignored my questions. No one should have to take this bad treatment. They have demonstrated a lack of integrity, a lack of trust, a lack of respect, and unprofessionalism in the treatment of their candidates. I do not recommend this company.

Hello, Thank you for the feedback regarding your interview with Legacy.com. First, to address your concerns about our phone line, we just recently learned that one of our conference room extensions was coming up as Private Number on some cell phones. We have taken steps to correct this, but we will be conducting all phone interviews from a different room until we are certain it is resolved. It is definitely not our intention to hide our identity or contact information in any way. I believe the call with the recruiter you spoke with should have come up with our number and/or name. Regarding the timing of your in-person interview, we have found that many talented technical applicants are hired quickly in the marketplace, and we tend to try to move quickly ourselves in accordance. Interviewers' summer vacations and applicants' own busy schedules often limit our options when scheduling interviews, and I suspect that was the case here. I'm truly sorry you felt pressured to come in quickly. And finally, the hiring process is still ongoing for this position, so we likely have not contacted you yet because a final decision hasn't been made. We attempt to provide closure to all applicants, but without knowing your identity, I can't comment accurately on your status at this time. Please contact me via LInkedIn, and I am happy to speak with you further. Thank you again for your feedback, and best of luck to you in your job search. Katherine Laggos VP, Human Resources Legacy.com, Inc.
