      Software Engineer Interview

      8 Feb 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Pleasant Grove, UT
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through university. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Legrand (Pleasant Grove, UT) in Dec 2016

      Interview

went to there building and asked me to call him on his personal cellphone when I get there to let him know that I was there. Apparently they recently moved, and even though there were a receptionist there she was not being used I guess. The interview started with a really nice conversation. I thought that the interview would be only behavioral because we already had spent over half of the time of the interview talking about soccer. Then, he asked me to convert a binary number into an integer in C. First I thought that the interview was for a C#/JavaScript position, but it was okay. I told him that have been a while since I had code in C, but I could do it. I spent all the rest of the time doing it, and I was able to compile and make it work on my first try. In the end of the interview the interviewer was looking sad and even took me to a quick tour around the office looking like that he was not wanting to do that. PS.: They are very clear on their intentions. They rarely hire interns, so they only want you there for one year and after that you are replaced by another cheap labor intern.

      Software Developer Interview

      2 Aug 2015
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Legrand in Mar 2015

      Interview

I applied online through some internship website. I am not sure which of the following websites it was through though: looksharp, internships, and I believe there was one other which escapes me. This was accomplished through a simple google search. I then talked to an HR representative in gerneral detail and background information for about 15 minutes. A few days later I spoke with the head of the development team in a little more specificity but still pretty general and was asked for an in-person interview. This interview was quite easy I thought. I met with the head software developer and the head of the development team. I again discussed background and general information. They wanted to fill the spot quickly so my interview might have been easier than it otherwise might have been. But they were genuinely nice so it was quite easy-going I thought.
