I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at LemonEdge in May 2021
Interview
They give you a chess move based telephone number problem. And want you to write an algorithm to generate max count of numbers based on Chess moves
Their problem statement says use OO and Design Patterns. And use stub functions where needed.
Well, I provided the solution for 4 of the chess pieces and for the other 3, I didnt implement and clearly mentioned it that they could be implemented similar to the 4 I have already done.
I also used Dependency inversion and interfaces and abstract classes.
Finally, I was told my solution was complicated. This was the most ridiculous response I got. Someone who couldn't understand interfaces / design patterns. Real shame.
Hindsight, it is better I didnt progress through with such a company.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at LemonEdge in July 2024
Interview
Total waste of time. I would say just time pass instead of interview. discussion on assessment project of number keypad. My project was working fine and they just modify that code for every chess moves and ask few question. I would suggest next candidate that they just apply inheritance or OOPs concept for every simple task as well you would get selected :)
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They expect every answer based on Inheritance & Dependency Injection even if you can give alternative correct answer.
I applied online. I interviewed at LemonEdge (London, England)
Interview
Fairly straight - forward 3 steps:
- coding test - takes a few hours but interesting;
- code review / tech chat - to argue your case on design etc;
- meet the team - so everyone gets on and helpful.
Good focus on building a collaborative culture, which is great.

Question 1
Nothing crazy - using latest tech so good to know what's going on.
