      BSA/AML Program Manager Interview

      14 July 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at LendingClub in July 2022

      Interview

A recruiter to who works directly for the company reached out to me asking me if I would be interested in hearing about the position since I had the qualifications and background they wanted. I asked her if I met their qualifications since I was a little bit short in terms of the years of experience they wanted. She said it was perfectly fine and she was aware of that so I told her I was and had a standard screening interview with her after which I was passed along to the hiring manager. During my interview with, the hiring manager hardly let me speak at all and basically spent the entire 30 minutes just talking, and the few chances I did have to speak she basically looked like she was bored and wanted me to rush, probably because she already went over our interview time when she spoke. Overall though, she kept telling me that I had the background they were looking for and that I would be able to grow like I wanted and expressed. She ended the interview by telling me that I would be hearing back from the recruiter about next steps. After a day of waiting, I was told they had decided to move ahead with other candidates…who had more experience…which was exactly the concern I raised when I spoke to the recruiter initially. Surprise, surprise, they wasted my time and the hiring manager’s. Not to mention that, the hiring manager described herself as honest and frank, but then definitely wasn’t that way when it came to her interest in me. I’m glad I don’t work for this company and the hiring manager, and I have no interest in working for them any longer.
