I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at LendingTree in May 2016
Interview
An initial phone screen with the recruiter and then a phone screen with the hiring manager. After those went well, I was asked to attend a half-day interview that consisted of the following: Four 30 minute interviews with the team and other department managers, lunch, and then a business case analysis.
Some interviewers seem prepared while others were not, but overall, the process seemed disjointed. The business case review was not handled effectively and there was little to no tolerance for thinking outside the box or in accepting different viewpoints. The questions were highly Lending Tree operation-specific which you would not get unless you either worked for the company or were given the answers beforehand, but even logically sound "incorrect" answers were discarded as wrong.
Overall, I was not impressed by the office environment (very cluttered and disorganized), the ways in which the interview process was handled, and especially the lack of follow-up after the interview. The company has good products and I know there are good people in the organization, but there are problems in the hiring process and overall professional courtesy that need to be addressed if they want to continue to expand and attract talent.
