      Product Manager Interview

      9 Oct 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Oklahoma City, OK
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Life.Church (Oklahoma City, OK) in Sept 2024

      Interview

Recruiter Screening for 30-45 mins go over background and faith, great conversation and felt valued because my entire life's work has been dedicated towards building tech through Christ. Then a video project answering 5-6 behavioral questions that I had to edit and post to them. Then a panel interview going over the questions and asking more about Product and my faith. During this interview, I was asked about more of my background and faith. I felt judged about not having a church in my hometown that I attend. I got very strange vibes at the end of it and sure enough get a call a week later and was rejected. The reason "not enough experience in product management". Isn't that a disqualified reason early on in the proces? Like before my 3rd round of interviews?? I have 4 years of XP and basically leading JIRA sprints all day at my previous job for 2 years. When I asked for more clarification regarding the decision I was ignored. This makes me very conspicuous about the integrity of the hiring managers. It is truly a shame because my life's work is dedicated towards making revolutionary Christian tech.

      Interview

Not difficult but thorough and they really test you. If you show any signs of struggling with your faith they’ll cut it off. Things like that. Many rounds of interviews. It’s definitely not what I expected because it was a job that was highly applied to. I definitely got grillec

      Project Manager Interview

      Anonymous interview candidate
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

      I interviewed at Life.Church

      Interview

The position was listed as fully remote, and in the initial application requested required salary. After a 45 minute long interview, the recruiter ends with, "Oh, by the way, this position is actually in person in OKC and the salary is half of what you're requesting." She then started dropping a lot of Jesus talk for why their dishonesty was actually my problem for not having enough faith after they misrepresented the position and wasted my time.

      Question 1

So, we're going to pay you half of what you're requesting and you'll have to move two states away for a position that we advertised as remote. That's okay, right?
