Interview
I was contacted by the spa manager for a phone interview. I was given no notice and was cold-called after submitting an application. The manager was pretty frank about wanting me to guarantee existing clients would travel if I changed jobs. Also, she did not speak in standard spa industry terms. For instance, she asked how many clients I could handle a day and I responded with how many service hours I can comfortably complete. She was confused and insisted on a client number, however, one client service can be 30min while another service 90min. It is pretty standard to refer to a therapists schedule and work capacity by hours of service/work given the difference in client services and durations. From that conversation it appeared to me this manager (and likely her hiring managers) lacked the experience and professionalism to complement their sharp branding.

Interview
First a behavioral interview on site with the spa manager. They asked questions to make sure you feel comfortable basically marketing yourself and doing the leg work to fill your books. Return for a second behavioral interview with the general manager, followed by a 60 min practical interview aka massage on another employee.
