      Business Development Associate Interview

      2 May 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Toronto, ON
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Lillio (Toronto, ON) in Apr 2017

      Interview

The phone interview was normal, asked a bunch of standard questions and then I was invited to the in-person interview. When I arrived at their location, I buzzed in, they made me wait outside in the cold and I had to wait for another tenant to open the door for me as they were leaving. I was interviewed by two people (including the associate who did the telephone interview with me). The second associate was disengaged during the entire interview while on her laptop. When we ran a cold call scenario she became aggressive and the interview suddenly felt very unprofessional. I assumed the best and figured it might have been a behavioural type of interview. The two associates began having a conversation with each other while I was in the room about not being able to remember the company's values. Overall I felt very confused by the experience and the two associates did not conduct themselves in a way that represented the company well at all. I'm glad I missed a bullet with that one.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Lillio (Toronto, ON)

      Interview

Pre-screening interview on phone, about a 15-minute phone call. They ask you the basic questions - tell me a little bit about yourself, why himama interests you, and then you do a quick mock call. Interview in person is with the CEO and Hiring Manager. Both really friendly and nice people. Questions go more in depth, again, about why you want to work there, describing your past roles, why you want to work in sales. And then you spend a significant portion doing a mock call of a cold call to a director. They give you feedback and then you try again incorporating the feedback.

      Anonymous interview candidate
      Toronto, ON
      No offer

      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Lillio (Toronto, ON) in May 2017

      Interview

Consists of 2 phone interviews followed by an in-person interview with the CEO and hiring manager. First two interview's consisted of standard questions such as strengths and weaknesses, why you want to join the company, interest in sales, and etc. 3rd interview was the same thing but the question's were more comprehensive. Also prepare to be in a mock cold-calling scenario in the 2nd phone interview and in the 3rd interview in-person. If you can nail it, you should be good. You're also expected to do a half-day performing roll to get a feel of the company, although I unfortunately did not make it to this round. Overall, although I didn't get the job, it was a decent experience. The hiring manager's and CEO were pretty chill.
