I want that 28 minutes of my life back. I was referred by an employee for this role and a recruiter reached out and scheduled a phone screen. From the beginning of the call I knew it was going nowhere. The recruiter came across as smug and uninterested, barely asking any questions and instead talking endlessly about the history of the company. When he did ask me for my background he put me on speaker and I could here him moving around in the background, occasionally grunting a response to let me know he was still there. He asked no follow-up questions other than "do you have experience in product marketing?" after I'd spent the last five minutes going over in detail my background in product marketing.
This company is new to Philly so I'd like to provide a tip for their leaders: the Philly tech community is small - everyone knows each other and word gets around when a company has this type of attitude. Suggest you make some changes to the interviewing process.
