I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at LloydsDirect (London, England) in Apr 2019
Interview
The group interview was arranged by a recruitment team, it was a "Cultural Fit" interview with no tech test at all for 4 candidates including me.
I didn't want to think that they are racist but the more I think about that day the more I think that they are.
For the 4 candidates, there were 2 Chinese Asians (me as one) and 2 Caucasians.
The main interviewer first led us to attend one of their meetings, some chats, then split us into two groups. While one group went to "pair" with a developer, the other group went to chat with the product manager, then later two group exchange.
Four candidates were split by race, probably unintentional, but the lead interviewer never attended to the "Asian group" sessions on neither the pairing or the product chatting.
After the cultural fit, there were no response from them at all, no information about feedback or next step progress. When I asked the recruitment team, the agent said they "went to holiday".
A month later I got 2 offers from two companies, and I noticed a candidate in another group (the Caucasian group) got and accepted offer from Echo.
When I asked the other Asian candidate, he didn't get any feedback at all as well. Echo just kept us hanging while they already proceed and closed the hiring. I guess they really couldn't bother to tell us "no" or give us feedback, like the main interviewer couldn't bother to join our sessions.
