I applied through other source. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Logikcull in Sept 2021
Interview
This was probably the most human centric interview I have ever experienced. Throughout the whole process I felt like the team really put my needs first, which is not the norm.
As I continued interviewing with other companies, I kept coming back to Logikcull. In my mind I kept thinking "If they're treating me this well as a potential employee, it has to be pretty good when you actually work here". It makes sense because most of the engineers I met during my interview process had been there for 4 - 5 years which seems pretty rare.
I should probably start talking about the interview 😅
- I had a conversation with the recruiter. Gazina was her name. She's super welcoming and probably the best recruiter I talked to throughout my whole interview process (I talked to slack, peloton, and some other companies and she was THE BEST). It honestly didn't feel like an interview. The time flew by and we went over on time haha.
- After that I talked to the manager of the team I was interviewing for. It was very informative and the manager asked me questions about my goals and why I wanted to work at logikcull. She also asked me about things I accomplished at my previous job.
- After that I was given a take home assessment. The timeline was finishing it over the weekend and a week max. I was actually going on vacation and the team accommodated my timeline. After reviewing my submission they gave me a 1k amazon gift card which was really generous of them.
- After that I was moved onto a virtual onsite interview. Where I met with the engineering team, reviewed my code submission with another engineer, and did a pairing exercise with an engineer and a designer. My last interview on the onsite was meeting with the VP of engineering that was more conversational and culture fit oriented
- Before you head to the last stage of the interview you receive a questionary you have to fill out. It's about yourself and your goals and aspirations.
- The last stage is meeting with Andy (CEO) and Sheng (CTO). More cultural, but it meant a lot to me. I appreciate it when companies allow you to meet these folks at the end. As an Asian-American it meant a lot to me to talk to someone in leadership with similar life experiences.
Overall, I have nothing but great things to say about this company. They made it really difficult to turn down. This was the most intentional interview process I have ever experienced. The whole time they made me feel like I was important and that I wasn't just going to fill a seat. If timing was different I would have totally accepted an offer here.
Thank you so much for the kind words! We're so happy to hear you enjoyed your experience interviewing with us. It was a pleasure to have you in our process and we want to wish you the best in your next role and for the future! Hopefully, our paths will cross again! :)
Other Senior Software Engineer interview reviews for Logikcull
I applied through other source. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Logikcull (Chicago, IL) in May 2023
Interview
I interviewed after matching on Hired.com. First was a standard behavioral interview with the hiring manager (a senior engineering manager). He was great, and offered plenty of time for Q&A. Then there was homework. They targeted 4 hours, but I found it took much longer, since they were looking for correctness, good design, performance, usability, and tests. They paid for the work with a $200 Amazon gift card. There was also a questionnaire, which had essay questions and requesting you rate yourself on the company's values. This felt like busywork, and redundant with prior interviews. It was also awkward: how are you supposed to rate yourself for "humility" on a 1-5 scale? After all this there was a final interview. It included a 45 minute panel with 6 people asking questions sequentially, a 45 minute walkthrough of the homework with 2 people, 30 minutes with a VP, and a 45-minute system design interview with 2 people. Everyone was kind, and it was great to meet the whole team, but it was a lot of people to talk to. After this, I didn't hear anything for a week. After I followed-up twice in that week, I got a generic rejection email. I asked for any feedback but received no reply. Overall I felt this was a well-intentioned and well-executed interview process, with the exceptions that the homework was long, the questionnaire was redundant, and given all this effort candidates put in, it would be kinder to them to convey the verdict sooner, and with some constructive feedback.

Well-organized process.
