I interviewed at Lowell Observatory (Flagstaff, AZ)
Interview
They will email you saying you've been selected to move on in the interview process. During the in-person interview there is a panel of supervisors who will watch you give a 5 minute presentation on your choosing. There's a lot of public speaking in this role so they want to make sure you're comfortable with that. After the interview you'll get an email within a few weeks on if you got the job or not.

I applied through other source. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Lowell Observatory (Flagstaff, AZ) in Mar 2017
Interview
Lowell flew me out for a whole day of interviews with various staff and board members. They gave me a tour of the facilities and provided lunch & dinner. During the course of the tour, various typical interview questions were asked and, as a whole, the process was very informal.
I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Lowell Observatory in May 2013
Interview
The hiring and interview process was mostly fairly relaxed. Unlike others in the industry it was not a long process at all. Only 4 months from application until everything was done. The interview itself was very informal and low pressure. They flew me out for the interview and had me stay on their campus. Once there I got a tour of all their facilites and was able to talk to members of the team I would be working with. All in all a very good experience.
