I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Lower East Side Tenement Museum (New York, NY) in May 2014
Interview
Applied several years earlier via email, after completing my Masters, and received no response. Applied again on the recommendation of a worker the museum, via email, and got instant call-back. Had a brief conversation on the phone and then an in-person in the offices, with two hiring supervisors. Somewhat forthright/unorthodox demeanor on the part of one hirer, and the other seemed a little nervous, but pleasant.

Interview
Pre-interview call and interview, nice and to the point. Usual interview questions and they might ask you to tell a story for three to five minutes about something special to you.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Lower East Side Tenement Museum in Apr 2023
Interview
Long conversation in a room with two administrators, had me prepare a speech about an object that I brought in. Had to fill out basic information a lot of times which is expected from these places with a lot of bureaucracy. Often felt like I was being tested on my political correctness, which was extremely nerve wracking. Was not asked about my skills I would bring to situations in the workplace at all. All ideological and had me guessing which buzzwords I should use and I ended up fumbling.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Lower East Side Tenement Museum (New York, NY) in Aug 2019
Interview
I was interviewed by two people. The interview lasted about 45 minutes. It was pretty standard for this type of position, mostly situational questions. They do ask you to prepare a five minute "story" about an item that is significant to you. Presenting the story was the first part of the interview.
