First was a screen with the recruiter. That went fine. Next was a call with the hiring manager who was nice enough. To be honest after that interview I wasn’t sure if I was still interested because he was dry. Surprisingly I moved forward to a panel with pretentious potential colleagues- zero warmth, very straight faced, made me feel like I’d be an outsider to a clique of formed relationships within the department. From there a week later I got a canned rejection email from the recruiter, although I’d made it to the last interview round. As a recruiter myself, I know how impersonal that is. You don’t send a canned email to those who made it past the second interview.
