I applied through university. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Lutron Electronics (Ithaca, NY) in Sept 2021
Interview
A screening interview that asked basic heat transfer and statics questions (0.5 h). A technical interview that went over circuit design, a heat sink, and asked questions about an existing product (2h). A roleplaying game/interview where I pretended to be an existing product services employee (2 h).

Question 1
How would you change this circuit to make the light more dim? Which component on this lightswitch dimmer do you think generates the most heat?
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Lutron Electronics in Sept 2025
Interview
Interview was around 1 hour long and, although it was not mentioned before, was a technical interview. The interview itself was relatively candid and a pleasant experience. It involved drawing on a digital whiteboard and answering engineering-related questions.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Modes of heat transfer? Ex. Describe the heat transfer from a coffee cup
It was smooth, just had to be verbal and precise with responses. Be ready to answer questions that would put you in specific scenarios and how you would adjust and adapt to the situation.
I applied through university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Lutron Electronics (Bethlehem, PA) in Jan 2023
Interview
Highly technical, quite intense & felt like if I had made a mistake, that was it for me in the process. Got the feeling that it didn’t matter who i was as a person or if I would fit at Lutron.

Question 1
A lot of mechanical/electrical concepts, like how a modern dimmer works.
