      Finance Manager Interview

      21 Oct 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

      Interview

First a Phone screen, then a follow up interview and then after those, a business case. Challenging but likely an accurate reflection of the role based on what I know from people within the organization. Could’ve probably avoided wasting time by giving the assessment earlier in the process.

      Finance Manager Interview

      24 Mar 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      San Francisco, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Lyft (San Francisco, CA) in Feb 2020

      Interview

One of the most unprofessional recruitment processes I've ever experienced. To start, a recruiter reached out to me about the role...and when it came time for our introduction call, she was nowhere to be found. I wrote her an e-mail to check in on her / see if anything had happened, and she didn't end up replying until almost a full week later (the call was scheduled for a Friday and she finally sent me a note the following Wednesday). When she did, she simply said "something came up" and apologized for the inconvenience. I refuse to believe that there wasn't enough time in her day (nay, several days following) to reply back to a person that she was ACTIVELY recruiting. Not to mention, this is at the core of her job function. This was, quite honestly, fairly off-putting and a huge red flag, but I bit my tongue and proceeded regardless. Eventually, we got back on track and the rest of the process actually went fairly smoothly. Disappointingly, I did not get the offer after an onsite visit that not only required taking a day off of work but several hours of work outside of my job preparing a model and presentation for a case study. Alas, that is the name of the game. What was irking, however, was that when all was said and done, I didn't hear from the recruiter for another week (despite being told I'd have an answer in the next few days) and when I eventually did, I received a generic, cookie-cutter e-mail rather than a call. This, frankly, is inexcusably unprofessional, especially considering the missed initial meeting, never mind the fact that this was an outbound recruiting effort.
