      Business Recruiter Interview

      28 Feb 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Lyft in Feb 2019

      Interview

I was set up with a phone interview with the manager who oversaw the hiring manager that was about 35 minutes. From that point, I was then set up with a phone interview with the manager who would oversee this role. The first call I had was enjoyable and informative; I felt that the manager was really interested in my background, the conversation flowed well, and it seemed to align with my background. The second call was awkward, the recruiter made me feel really uncomfortable, and was borderline condescending. I could tell from the jump that she was not interested in me or my background. (I'm a recruiter, I can hear it when my colleagues are doing it, and she was definitely doing it to me.) After the second call, I was no longer interested in the opportunity just given the coldness I felt, and it's not shocking given the reviews for the interview process speak poorly about the candidate experience (which I find laughable, considering it was the first bullet point of the job description for Recruiter.) Never did I talk about candidate experience or how I work with candidates - it was all about numbers, speed, and sourcing. There are many parts of recruiting, and clearly Lyft is lacking some of the human connection in TA.
