      Engineering Manager Interview

      20 Jan 2026
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Lyst in Jan 2026

      Interview

I was approached by the recruiter who was very friendly, clear and through. He went to great extents to describe the company and the position. I was then invited to complete a Python test that I understood to be more of a way to see how much I understood the language. However it turned out to be a small project which showed they were looking for a former Python developer. After a few hours I decided to submit what I had because it was eating too much of my time (I was on holiday) and explained that to them. Of course I failed (I never claimed to be a former Python developer, only that I managed Python developers in my previous role). We had a professional exchange and they said they took my feedback on the interview and test, which would help their recruiting process. The recruiter acted professional throughout the process and was timely in responding and getting in touch, which was very much appreciated.
