Put forward by a recruitment agency, I was submitted for the role and invited in for an 1.5hr interview. This interview ran through my skills and behaviours as well as reviewing a psychometric test completed prior to the interview. Upon completion, I was informed that I was successful and offered the job. Upon completing the onboarding and security clearance requirements and waiting on completion, I was invited in to meet the team. Upon meeting the team, having lunch, a short site tour and some powerpoint slides to familiarise me with the business, I was told my offer was being rescinded. I was not made aware that I would be assessed on this as part of the process. However, I was told that I didn't come across as the same person as I did at interview stage and having suffered from nerves and anxiety on the day, felt this was unfair, harsh and insensitive. My state of mind on the day had no reflection of my professional skills or experience, nor my work ethic. Having invested hours into researching, preparing and attending the interview and meet & greet, the hiring team completely wasted my time, money and emotional energy. Terrible way to conduct a hiring process. I hope other people's time and efforts aren't wasted like mine was.
