The interview was conducted with the head of HR and the CTO. It was around one hour and was code free.
We started with the usual introduction and HR questions and moved forward to some very basic tech questions. Both interviewers were very nice and pleasant to talk to, but the CTO spoke for a very long time leaving me a little chance to actually answer.
I felt that the tech part was very simple and did not allow for any real reflection of knowledge or experience. There were some very important questions missing on HR side, such as salary expectations and notice period.
After an hour, the interview ended and they promised to provide feedback within two weeks. I sent a reminder after 10 days and two days later I received the standard rejection email with no useful feedback. A note at the end encouraged me to apply for a different position.
I had a negative impression because I felt the question were not really related to the position I applied for. It was a front-end job but a lot of questions were related to PHP. That would have been fine if I was asked more about front end concepts and technologies. I understand that the CTO doesn't like to have a coding test, but that should have been substituted high level technical questions.
