I'm shocked with how the hiring process is built here. I applied for a job a month ago, was invited to the language test — no human interaction on this stage whatsoever, no screening or clear salary expectations.
In the test language choice option, there was no language that I'm a native speaker of (though it is the language required in the JD).
So I picked English thinking that I'll be able to explain things on a spot. I traveled 1 hour to be met by a receptionist (not an HR) who didn't seem to have enough language proficiency to explain more details other than 'they will email you in a week or so '. Parts of the test were in Serbian. It was not a part of the job description.
And of course, noone emailed me in a week or so, not even after a month. I would have no questions if that was specified initially, like some companies do , 'we only email those who get to the next hiring stage'.
However, what I've seen so far, that kind of hiring is simply appalling, you definitely need some competent HRs if you 'hire internationally '.
