Very thorough .Several round of open discussion.One needs to be thoroughly prepared for the subject. You need to be well read, informed and must have ability to articulate your own singular viewpoint . The process is very open discussion format.Since you are going to work on projects which have no reference in the world,it is appropriate that you need to be ready to become reference.

Interviewer was quite dry, did not respond to answers in a way where you could gauge level of interest. Questions were mostly open ended, except for questions on wheether i had used specific instuments and techniques

Interview
For the first interview phase, I met with the laboratory principal investigator and had a traditional interview meeting. For the second interview stage, I was asked to prepare and give a 30 minute presentation on my past research projects. Then there was a 30 min Q&A section, followed by open discussion.
