Very easy, meeting with the professor and discussing a bit about the course description and prior experience. It helps if you know the professor beforehand. Values going to prior office hours or engaging in the class.

We were given a number of questions to answer. We were also asked for our previous performance in the class. We were asked for our math background, our teaching background.

You apply online and rank the classes you want to teach. From there, its up to you to go after and contact professors and see if they want you to help teach in the class or not. Very relaxed, have to make sure to stay on top of the whole process. Assuming you already got accepted into the masters of engineering school.
