Interviewed for the Release of Information Specialist position. During the interview, we discussed salary expectations and potential start dates, and I was told I would hear back the following week regarding next steps. That timeline passed with no communication. I followed up with the person who initially reached out (who was out of office and did not respond upon return), and then followed up with the interviewer, at which point I received a brief rejection. The interview consisted primarily of general behavioral questions (e.g., past manager experiences, conflict resolution) and a basic self-assessment of computer proficiency, with no questions specific to Release of Information workflows or compliance. Given the level of detail discussed regarding training, salary, and scheduling for when I could start, the lack of follow-up did not align with the timeline communicated at the end of the interview. This suggests a breakdown in communication within the hiring process. Clear and consistent communication throughout the hiring process would improve the candidate experience.
