I applied online and was invited for interview in-house. Quickly it turned out that the job spec did in fact not specify the region one would be responsible for - and the amount of travel involved. Very strange situation. I tried to rectify the situation by highlighting the other skills that I have, which then turned into a bit of a Q&A testing session, with me answering questions about financial markets and my current company.
When I then in return asked about their book of business, the recruiter suddenly remembered that I wasn't a suitable candidate anyway due to my lack of ability to travel, which again wasn't mentioned anywhere at all. The recruiter also compared my domestic child care situation with that of his wife, probably not realising that this is being sexist, as if at all he should be comparing it with himself.
All in all, glad it all ended that quickly. The company has a long way to go with regards to their HR processes as well as lack equal opportunities for working mothers.
