      Management Trainee Interview

      23 June 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Elmhurst, IL
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Mac Collective (Elmhurst, IL)

      Interview

Applied online, got an email and call the morning after about setting up an interview. They were extremely pushy about getting a response- an hour after the initial email they sent a call to see if I would really interview, then multiple confirmations afterwards to see if I would really show up. Was really turned off by their pushiness, and it raised a red flag with me. When I got there they were hesitant to directly answer my questions about the company, and ultimately I declined to attend the follow-up interview because something seemed off.

Thanks for your feedback. When we find the right candidate, we're enthusiastic about working with them, and we want to make sure we give them a chance. Unfortunately on this occasion that didn't come across well to you, and we apologize for that. We're confident if you had attended your interview that you would have got a better impression of our company. Good luck in finding a more suitable position.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Mac Collective

      Interview

I went in for the first round interview at the main office and had a nice conversation with the CEO of the company. The interview was short on detail and long on promise of opportunities. I got called back for the second round interview an hour after I left the first round interview. Because I had a good rapport and did not do much research on this business, I agreed to come do a second round interview. I filled out a questionnaire and then was handed off to my shadow person for the day. I ended up watching my two handlers for the day selling cable and internet subscriptions. I was asked a bunch of random questions that I had to answer in my portfolio. I answered all of the questions and made it to the final round. On the car ride back to the main office, I was told to memorize three different random things. I had to learn them for the last questionnaire before the third round interview with the CEO. I completed this successfully and before going in for the final round interview, I was asked additional questions by another employee of the company. Then I went in for the interview at about 7:30pm at night with the CEO where I was asked a couple of questions and told a bit more about the company before being hired on the spot. Do not take this job unless you want no benefits, only commission, and 11-hour days to barely survive.

      Interview

Call you and get you into an interview where they ask you questions about yourself, but really don't disclose a lot of the actual duties of the job until the "training day" where you learn you'll just be selling internet and cable at Walmart until they kick you out in 8-10 months. No base salary. Just commission.

Hi, thank you for leaving your feedback. We would not 'kick' anybody out of our company, we may find ourselves in a situation like many other companies do, where an individual has caused concern and their actions resulted in dismissal. We hope you have found a more suitable role that you are happier in, Many Thanks.
