In response to the company's own defensive and finger-pointing comment on another review here: I am not some copywriter who was let go; I was interviewed in 2019 before COVID-19 so their scrambling explanation about how they interview /now/ is null and void and does not mean anything when the experience I had was the honest truth. For any prospective employee thinking of applying to this company, my advice is to heed any of the negative reviews here and to really pay attention to the accusatory tone whoever at Mad uses to everyone who dares to point out how much they mistreat people and never take accountability.
To Mad, since it is obvious you read these reviews: perhaps it is time you stop and think about why so many report subpar to negative experiences before you blame the next post on a recently let go employee to make yourselves feel better
The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Mad (Boca Raton, FL) in Mar 2019
Interview
Applied via LinkedIn was contacted the next day for a in-person Interview. When in and met with the creative director and the owner. Interview was smooth at the end I was told I needed to do a timed design test. Next day I sent an email to schedule the test and sent my availability. Never heard back... thinking they where sending it the time I had proposed I sent an email to the creative director (contact person) they replied back with the excuse that they where catching up on emails it had been 3 days after sending my availability. She replied back with possible new time for the test. I gave my availability ...The day came for me to do the test and it was never sent. Please don’t waste candidates times, it would have been better if they had said we are not interested in you for this role from the beginning instead of waisting my time
I applied in-person. I interviewed at Mad (Fort Lauderdale, FL) in Jan 2017
Interview
Came in, showed my portfolio, explained my thought process on each piece. Discussed what they expected of me, what I expected to get in return. Very casual and comfortable interview, I enjoyed it more than any of the others I've done.
