Terrible experience: the recruiter called me many times but never sent me an email with her contacts until I asked her to do it, she even left me voicemails asking to call her back (she is in France and I do not want to spend extra money for having an interview). We had a first chat but she never sent me the company website and the job specs, during the following interview I told the Director and he said the interview was not going well and preferred to stop me and close the chat. I think they are very unprofessional, unrespectful and completely unempathic, really glad it did not work.
As romans said "verba volant, scripta manent", maybe you should think about that in the future
The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Magicard (Weymouth, Dorset, South West England, England) in July 2024
Interview
The first time we talked at the summer
They had information about my current salary and salary expectations but called an f-to-f interview (during the interview tried to decrease my salary)
In fact, I also was not sure because Senior Embedded Linux engineer for a middle salary - very strange.
As a result "we can't hire you because of some bureaucratic problems and the end of the financial year"
After two months, they invited me again for an interview.
In the interview, they said that in fact, they were searching for a "team lead position", not a senior.
Right now I working as a middle embedded engineer (MCU) for same salary.
Before was in the head of department position - but i had bigger money.
What i can recommend:
1-Don't hide your real job and create a salary according to the market.
2-Don't spend the candidate's time for travel to Weymouth (also it takes time and money) and hear after "We can't hire you because of bureaucratic problems and end of the financial year" - at least not polite.
3-Team Lead with Embedded Linux + Kernel + Docker for 50k - very strange.
I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at Magicard
Interview
Chaotic. Did not seem to mention the role or ask about my cv. They had me there for around 2 hours and the whole situation was disorganised and pointless. I got the feeling that they just desperately wanted someone to have tea and a chat with rather than to go through a proper interview process.
