incredibly disjointed, outsourced consulting work on a very unorganized sales and marketing function. "case study" which really was their data that they needed guidance on because they weren't hitting the returns their investors were expecting. leadership team was junior relative to a mature business, and their inability to strategize and have a cohesive vision was wildly evident. the questions they asked of me were fair questions, but illustrated a deep disconnect b/w the business and the market. when asked common questions back to the ceo/finance/opps team they would deflect and dodge and also seem perplexed by what was being asked of them, as though they had never considered certain metrics and benchmarks. multiple rounds, multiple stakeholders, all to not hire anyone for the role after outsourcing their consulting to get some better framework from myself and other candidates for sales/marketing functions. i expressed this very early on to their recruiter after i framed out my expected compensation which was higher but they insisted we move forward because they'd find the financing to bring in someone senior. i was not the least bit shocked at the outcome, as i had pegged them for it after the first convo but moved forward expecting a mutual respect of either party's time...should've trusted the gut instinct.
