I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at MappedIn in July 2023
Interview
Applied online. No internal referral or anything.
Because I had both positive and negative experience I will try to be as unbiased possible.
Pros:
(1) Fast interview process. Process was very quick. Took only 2 weeks (started Monday, finished on Tuesday 2 weeks after).
(2) Straight forward on what the interviews expect. They tell you what the interview will be about. It is not like "hey let's meet for a quick chat!" and then they start asking you heavy technical questions.
(3) Received feedback regarding my interviews. THIS is one of the main reasons that beats all my cons. After rejection asked if there was a way to hear any feedback. They were kind to let me know which stage failed me. Not too much detail, but at least I can tell which interview (e.g. behavioural VS technical) I lack.
Cons:
(1) TOO fast process. I saw the same job reposted right after my interview, an immediate give away that I am rejected. The rejection email itself came days after which made me pretty upset. Would've appreciated if they at least reject me first before reposting the job...
(2) What the interviews expect were clear, e.g. a technical assessment, but WHAT it consists of seemed to be a bit out of order. They said this role is brand new, so they do not have a baseline.
(3) There were other people in the interview. In the meeting invite it would say "meeting with xyz" but when I actually go into the interview, I saw other people there. They do not participate but you have to be conscious there are more people watching you.
(4) They had re-organized the interview order due to vacations. So what is typically 1-2-3 I had them happen in 1-3-2. I was rejected after 2, which was a technical assessment because my skills are not adequate. However, I had taken interview #3. Meaning they got to know me in more depth than just tech interviews. They said they like my personality and experience (unless it was just them saying white lies for me..) but they rejected me right after a tech exam. If the tech skills were the most important deciding factor, they should not have changed the order.
