      I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Markaaz in July 2025

      Interview

      Interview Process: Last week of June – Intro call with SVP of HR after nearly five weeks with no contact. 1st week of July – Had to send a follow-up email to get a call with the GM of Global Partnerships booked; no proactive outreach. 1st week of July – Call with GM; productive conversation. That same day, I received an email stating they wanted to schedule the following calls. However, no further action was taken until I followed up again in the second week of July with updated availability. 2nd week of July – Interview with EVP of Europe. The tone was challenging, and she ate throughout the call, which disrupted the conversation several times before she eventually stopped. 2nd week of July – Two interviews (Same day): 1st interview, SVP of Sales took the call on his phone while driving, with his camera off. 2nd interview, Chief of Staff joined unprepared, mentioned she hadn’t reviewed my resume or LinkedIn, had no questions for me, and could only answer a few of mine. The call lasted ~20 minutes. Post-interview: 3rd week of July follow-up email to SVP of HR — no response. Last week of July follow-up to the GM — also no response. Final Outcome: On September 24, 2025, I finally heard back from HR, who admitted she had never sent a draft email informing me the role was on hold. She confirmed the company quietly restarted hiring in early September, moved forward with another candidate, and only told me after I followed up again. Overall: The process spanned over three months from application to final update. Multiple interviews were unprofessional (eating during the call, driving during the call, and an unprepared interviewer). Communication was slow, I had to chase updates repeatedly, and ultimately I only received closure after pressing for answers. The role was reopened and filled without any proactive communication. This left a very poor impression of the company’s hiring practices.
