      Application

I interviewed at MarketCast (London, England)

      Interview

I applied online through the company's website and was contacted a few days later by the HR to arrange an initial screening call. I selected an available time slot through their scheduling system. On the day of the call, nobody contacted me. After following up, I was told that the meeting had somehow not appeared on the HR's calendar and was asked to reschedule for the following week. The rescheduled screening call went well. During the conversation, I learned that the role was for a market research company that had been acquired and operated as a separate team based in London. I was told I would hear back regarding next steps by the end of that week. After receiving no update, I sent a follow-up email a week later and received no response. I sent another follow-up email after that, which was also ignored. At that point, I assumed either I had not been selected or the hiring plans had changed internally. While rejection is a normal part of the hiring process, candidates deserve clear communication and closure. Being completely ignored after being told to expect next steps reflects poorly on the candidate experience. Based on my experience, unless you have a strong reason to pursue an opportunity here, I would be cautious about investing significant time in their recruitment process.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

The interview was primarily focused on my background and current role. I was asked about my responsibilities, the projects I work on, and the impact of my work. There were also standard behavioural and motivational questions such as: - Tell me about yourself. - Why do you want to work here? - Why are you looking for a new opportunity? - What interests you about this role? The conversation was fairly straightforward and did not contain any particularly unusual or challenging questions.
