Interview
I did a couple of video phone calls, one with the COO and another follow-up call with someone in the creative department. Both interviews were largely interested in my personality, but I did get some questions about my skill levels and how my skill set could benefit their business model. Both interviewers were incredibly pleasant and easy to talk to and, quite honestly, I think I'm the one who missed out on this one. They were great and they're very focused on their culture, because they seem to realize a good culture in the office creates a quality end product.
We appreciate you taking the time to write this review. Thank you. Yes! We defend our culture. It's actually very important for us to find people who we believe are a good 'fit.' That doesn't mean that we don't appreciate skills and experience. But we've learned the hard way that, if the fit is poor, it really doesn't matter all that much if people have amazing skills.
It was mostly behavioral. All of the questions were about my drive and not about coding. This company values hard work and believes that smart hard workers will learn on the job.

Interview
HR reached out to schedule a phone interview with someone on the team I'd be working with. Pretty basic questions, just reviewed my resume and why I was interested in the position. About a week later I interviewed with the entire team. It's a small company so they want to be sure everyone is on the same page regarding new hires. Overall, the people I interacted with were really friendly and I had a positive experience with them. The only thing that was a little off-putting was the "thank you for your interest" e-mail I got which told me I was rejected from a role I didn't apply for. I had to e-mail her back to clarify that I was rejected from the role I DID apply for.
