I applied to this company by email and got an answer from the CEO who questioned me back. His 3 questions were ending with several question marks each, which means the person is impatient. Then I read through glassdoor reviews and decided to cancel my application - I was not going to work obligatory overtimes for free as well to get a low rate for such a job with lots of unpaid overtimes. I honestly stated it in my reply to him and kindly apologized for taking his time. The answer he provided shocked me a bit. Of course, it was mentioned that overtimes are paid and the rate is much higher than I though (although in the position description I could clearly see the annual salary, and it was fine unless there are lots of unpaid overtimes there). But at the end of this email, I've got a "hope we meet some day. Ottawa is a small village." Didn't understand if it was a threat? Anyway, the way CEO communicated by email wasn't really professional, to my mind. I do not regret quitting.
